Lordington Lavender was established is 2002 as part of a diversification program and as an alternative to dairy farming. The crop is grown with conservation of habitat and the environment very much in mind. No fertilisers or pesticides are used. The farm is a haven for wildlife with 12 red listed species of birds including skylarks and barn owls. The lavender field is full of bumble bees (an endangered species) and butterflies in summer. The essential oil is produced from the French Provencal variety Mailette famed for its high quality oil, using only steam in the process. The product is pure and unadulterated in any way. All products are made using only the highest quality ingredients to produce simple, pure, honest products of great value. |
